Tribute to Sue McCollum

Sue McCollum founded My Blue Dots based upon the founding principle that cancer would be cured one day and that this vision would be achieved through research.  She was equally passionate about supporting patients and caregivers through their cancer journey with expressions of love and comfort.  The inspiration for this vision was her own experience with cancer.

She was a prolific writer who published many books of poetry, focusing on her own cancer journey.  Over the last 20 years, she inspired thousands of patients and her foundation funded some of the most promising research at Stanford University.  This work has led to the development of novel therapies for cancer patients.  Although she ultimately succumbed to pancreatic cancer, the work of her foundation will continue through the efforts of one of her doctors, Dr. Albert Koong, and his wife, Dr. Jenny Hua.

The My Blue Dots Foundation will continue to fund cancer research at Stanford University with an emphasis of translational research in radiation oncology.  The focus of this work will continue to prioritize the development of new cancer therapies and to support all cancer patients in their own personal journeys.
